Welcome to the Rotary club of charlotte-south

Today the Rotary Club of Charlotte-South  includes over 60 members dedicated to the Rotary Ideal of “Service Above Self” and representing over 45 different categories of business and professionals.

At its inception, the club was sponsored by the Dilworth Rotary Club and founded on January 5, 1984.

Since that time the Rotary Club of Charlotte-South  has earned the District 7680 “Club of the Year” distinction seven times, most recently in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2011 the club was recognized as the first recipient of Rotary’s International Club award.

In just over 25 years of service the Rotary Club of Charlotte-South has raised more than $500,000 for local and international charitable activities.

The Rotary Club of Charlotte-South  is one of the leading clubs in our district to contribute to the Paul Harris Foundation which promotes projects throughout the world. 74% of of the Club’s members are Paul Harris Fellows.

The Rotary Club of Charlotte South’s signature project, The Beach Blast, began in 1987. Rotarians arrange to send over 500  at-risk CMS students on a day long beach trip each Spring. In addition to what for many is their first trip to a beach, each is also qualified to apply for a Beach Blast College Scholarship. The Club, along with its sister Foundation, has sent over 9000 kids to the beach and awarded $100,000 in scholarship money.
