August 15th Club Meeting to be held at A Child’s Place!
Posted By Marc Friedland
Please remember that we will NOT be meeting at Zebra’s on August 15th for our usual weekly meeting. Rather we will be meeting a Child’s Place.
In June our guest speaker Aimee Brunton – Partnership Manager, A Child’s Place received a check from the Charlotte-South Rotary Club. To deepen our support for Charlotte’s children in need, we have now scheduled a hands-on service project. As a reminder, the goals of A Child’s Place (ACP) are to:
- provide stable, appropriate education to homeless students
- provide support services to enhance their opportunities for academic success
- provide services to families to ensure long term stability and self-sufficiency
Instead of our regularly scheduled meeting on August 15th, our club will meet at ACP. Our agenda will be as follows:
12:30 PM – Boxed lunch/ Social/ ACP chat
1:15 PM – Stuff backpacks with back to school supplies (expect to be done by 2:30 – 3:00 PM)
A Child’s Place
601 East 5th Street, Suite 230
Charlotte, NC 28202-3000
Donations are welcome! If anyone brings a donation, ACP will fill out a tax form for you. ACP’s current priority needs are:
Please sport your lovely blue Rotary shirt and join your friends to help homeless children in our community have the tools they need to get a good education!
Reply to Karen.Pike@cigna.com no later than August 10th with your intention to attend, or not, so we can have an accurate count for lunch.
