Meeting 05/19/14 – Rotary Moments with Andy Bach

Posted By Marc Friedland

keldad Andy was born in San Francisco to two artists and grew up in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. He came south for college to Duke, and after a few years as a banker got his MBA from Wharton (where he met his wife Susan).

Andy worked in corporate acquisitions in New York City, then Dallas, before moving to Charlotte in 1999. He has been CEO or CFO of several diverse businesses, and for the last eight years has worked as a consulting CFO with high-growth stage technology companies.

The Bach’s son Tim works in cybersecurity in San Francisco, and their daughter Kelly is a sophomore studying neuroscience at Dartmouth College.

In addition to Rotary, Andy has served on the Boards of ACG, Jr Achievement, CRTEC, IMAF, Boy Scouts, OPRC, Goodwill Industries, and SafeAlliance. His strongest interest is in helping children’s education.
His hobbies are cycling, the Grateful Dead, tennis, jazz, and Imperial IPA beer. He still regrets giving up playing the bass and not learning Danish from his mother.
