Our History
The History of Charlotte-South Rotary

The Charlotte-South Rotary Club was founded on January 5, 1984, sponsored by the Dilworth Club.

Our Rotary Club has been vigorously involved in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community in various ways since its inception. Like all Rotary clubs, Charlotte-South contributes to the four avenues of service: International, Club, Vocational, and Community.

Historically our club is one of the leading clubs in our district to contribute to the Paul Harris Foundation which promotes projects throughout the world.

Although our Club is fairly young in terms of years of existance, we have already been awarded Club of the Year for District 7680 four times-1995, 1996, 1997, and 2000. Our club members represent over 40 different categories of business and professionals and the members of Charlotte-South are leaders in their fields.

Rotary is a service club and each member pledges "Service above Self". As we help others, we satisfy the ideals of Rotary.
